- Support tank and remove straps

Most modern Volvo models have fuel pump access panels:
- XC60, XC90 - Access via rear cargo area floor
- S60, V60 - Access under rear seat
- XC40 - Access varies by variant

⚠️ Volvo Gasoline & Plug-in Hybrid
US Volvo models are primarily gasoline and Recharge plug-in hybrid. PHEVs still have gasoline tanks—diesel in gasoline contamination is possible at shared fueling lanes:
- Do NOT start the engine if wrong fuel suspected
- Volvo VIDA service information documents tank drain and module access procedures
- Full system flush required if contaminated fuel circulated
Electric Vehicles
Pure electric vehicles from Geely Group cannot be misfueled as they have no fuel tank:
- Polestar 2, 3, 4 - Pure electric
- Volvo C40 Recharge, EX30, EX90 - Pure electric
- Lotus Eletre, Emeya - Pure electric SUV/GT
Plug-in hybrid models (Volvo T8, XC60 Recharge, etc.) still have gasoline tanks and can be subject to diesel in gasoline contamination.
