⚠️ Jeep overview
Jeep is a core Stellantis US brand with gasoline SUVs and pickups plus optional 3.0L EcoDiesel in select years. Gasoline-in-diesel is a high-severity event on EcoDiesel common-rail systems. Follow TechAuthority; DEF must never enter the fuel tank.

Fuel system notes
- EcoDiesel 3.0L V6 (Wrangler, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee—verify model year) uses high-pressure common rail.
- 4xe plug-in models still have a gasoline tank for the ICE portion.
- Trail-rated models may need additional skid plate removal for tank drop.

Frequently asked questions
Which Jeeps have EcoDiesel in the US?
Stellantis offered the 3.0L EcoDiesel on select Wrangler, Gladiator, and Grand Cherokee model years—always confirm the fuel door and window sticker for your VIN.
Is DEF the same as diesel?
No. DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) goes in a separate capped reservoir. Pouring DEF into the diesel tank is a different contamination event—follow OEM SCR service.
