Access procedure
- Do not start the engine. Disconnect the negative battery cable per Nissan service information.
- Relieve fuel system pressure using the OEM-specified procedure (often fuse removal for the fuel pump, then crank without starting).
- Access the fuel pump module via the OEM fuel pump access panel when equipped, or lower the tank per workshop manual if no panel exists.
- Disconnect fuel lines using quick-connect procedures in the service manual; contain vapors and bond/ground per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Nissan X-Trail sold under that name in the US?
US market uses the Rogue name for this vehicle line. Fuel procedures follow US Rogue service information.
What if I put diesel in my Rogue?
Do not start the engine. Drain and flush per Nissan before cranking — diesel can damage gasoline direct-injection components if run.
Should I siphon fuel from the filler neck on my Nissan Rogue (X-Trail)?
USIFDA certified repair facilities use Nissan OEM-prescribed fuel module or tank access only. Filler-neck siphoning is not a certified misfuel recovery process in the United States.
