⚠️ Hyundai manufacturer position
No fuel tank drain procedure applies. If non-fuel fluids are contaminated, follow OEM high-voltage safety and reservoir service procedures; misfuel-related warranty exclusions do not apply to fluids never designed for the fuel system.

Misfuel risk Not applicable
No gasoline or diesel fuel tank on US Ioniq 5/6.
If the engine was not started
Traditional fuel misfuel does not apply. If an incorrect fluid was added to a capped reservoir, do not energize the vehicle until OEM inspection.
If the engine was started
If the vehicle was driven after non-fuel fluid contamination, follow OEM diagnostics for affected systems; there is no gasoline or diesel fuel system flush.
Access procedure
- If incorrect fluid was added to washer fluid or coolant reservoirs, do not start high-voltage systems until the contamination is assessed per OEM service information
- Isolate 12V and high-voltage systems per battery disconnect procedure
- Drain or flush the affected reservoir using OEM-specified fluid only
- Inspect for leaks or damage before returning the vehicle to service
